		Henry Cramer's letter of reference, from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, dated 02/28/1890. The contents read: "This is to certify that Mr. Henry Cramer, the bearer of this note, has been in the employment of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the last seven years & that his conduct has always been very satisfactory in every way. He is sober, honest, and faithful and reliable. The undersigner knows Mr. Cramer ever since 1861 having served in the New York Cavalry Regiment with bravery and distinction during the whole war."
